Sarah Palin: victim no more.
Governor Palin welcomely drew a line in the sand tonight. It is the Democratic Party's job to stomp all over it. The claims of sexism and cruelty are no longer viable with the unveiling of Sarah Palin, snark queen. More after the jump...
The contrast between the speeches tonight and the speeches at the Democratic conventions couldn't be clearer.
Obama, 8/28/08: But what I will not do is suggest that the senator takes his positions for political purposes. Because one of the things that we have to change in our politics is the idea that people cannot disagree without challenging each other’s character and patriotism.
Obama managed to make his case without resorting to ad hominem attacks and lies. And America loved it. His rhetoric was not as high-flown as in the past, but it highlighted his grit, determination, and deep empathy for all our fellow citizens.
Sarah Palin, 9/3/08: I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except with actual responsibilities.
Sarah Palin managed to insult people who work to make other people's lives better. Do the Republicans really think that Palin somehow represents small-town America? Only if small-town America is snotty, and rude, and incapable of telling the truth. Sarah Palin is a lot like George Bush: claims to represent something that she is merely a small part of. I believe the American people can see right through it.
As for "thanks but no thanks":
