The Main Stream Media should dig in their heels and call the Republican strategy for what it is. An intimidation.
One of the main reasons McCain and his cronies wanted a woman on the ticket was to gain the upper hand in neutralizing any scrutiny and criticisms of Sarah Palin by screaming sexism. They know that the MSM is weary of these accusations which have been made by the Clintons over and over again, by attributing this very notion as the reason for Hillary's loss in the primaries.
Just like McCain is quick to whip out the POW story to fend off any valid issues he is confronted with, the GOP's strategy is to go all out with the sexism cry wolf.
They are resorting to a relentless tactic designed by Rove to discredit anyone that confronts them with valid facts. This is exactly what these cry babies are doing with CNN and sadly, they are succeeding with MSNBC. Has anyone realized lately, how Keith Olberman is trying so hard to not be passionately opinionated? I can't wait for Rachel Maddow to launch her show. The GOP intimidation is working.
The Obama camp needs to push back at this strategy by sending the most eloquent female supporters into the ring. I am not sure if we can count on Hillary, but only time will tell at this point. However, there are others that can do a superb job.
I just hope and pray that the MSM can show some backbone and challenge the GOP each time they pull this crap out of their playbook. If this isn't tackled properly and pronto, they will go after Biden during the debate and cry sexism.
In a way, I hope that women stand up and smell the roses, because if they let the Repubs get away with this strategy, it will make it hard for anyone to imagine a female President standing up to bullies like Putin and his ilk. In other words, this strategy undermines the very argument that the women's lib has been making through the years about equal justice and fair and balanced treatment for all.
