John McCain has bought the complete set of Rove/Bush tactics and policies, and he owns the failures of the economy and the War in Iraq as well. McCain shilled for Bush as a moderate blue state mole who cozied up to the Sprinkled Donut Media and the celebrity talk show circuit.
Here are 2 appearances on Letterman and the Daily Show that show how McCain's impulsive judgment and demogoguery is more of the same Republican agenda.
Late Show, Oct. 2001:
Letterman: How are things going in Afghanistan now?
McCain: I think we're doing fine. I think we've removed what little anti-aircraft capability they have. These C-130 Gunships are pretty awesome weapons of war and I believe the Taliban will be removed. I think we'll get Tim [OBL] and his people.
Letterman: Didn't they get a lieutenant of his today or in the last 24 hours or something?
McCain: My understanding, yeah. I think the harder part is going to be when we bring in helicopters and people on the ground. They still have these shoulder-held surface-to-air missiles that helicopters are vulnerable to, but I think we'll do fine. The second phase...if I could just make, really quickly...The second phase is Iraq. There is some indication and I don't have the conclusions, but some of this anthrax may...and I emphasize MAY...have come for Iraq.
Letterman: Oh, is that right?
McCain: If that may be the case, well, that's when some tough decisions are going to have to be made.
So, Sen. McCain...one month after 9/11, you recklessly wanted to follow your friend George W. Bush into Iraq and take the focus off of "Tim"? So did you find the anthrax? WMD? Did you change your strategy when you received new information? Or did you ever realize that you had wrong information? I have some indications that you MAY...and I emphasize the word MAY...be a warmongering idiot who is stupid enough to be George Bush's stooge. I don't have the conclusions yet, but the indications are that your reckless behavior will prevent you from the presidency in 2008.
The Daily Show, Sep. 2004:
I think that the American people will recognize that we are in a war and we ought to be fighting that war and not against each other...I think that maybe John Kerry must have shot his dog.
John McCain, responding to Zell Miller speech on the Daily Show
In 2008, John McCain is no longer the blue state shill for George W. Bush, but the leader of the Republican party. His advisors are the same as Bush. His policies are the same as Bush. His tactics are the same as Bush. The lies and demagoguery from his attack dogs Thompson, Guliani, and Palin, remain the same. The impulsive decision-making remains the same. The sneering disdain of middle class Americans and poor Americans remains the same.
