If I didn't know any better, from reading these diary entries I would assume that a) it is Obama vs. Palin, and b) Palin is a very serious threat.
The more we obsess over Palin, the more we'll get off message and risk diluting the sustained attacks that have been made on McCain over the past few months. Moreover, the more we talk about her, the more it seems we think of her as a serious threat to Obama. Besides, the more people see us talking about her, the more they will think that we think she is a serious threat.
We need to be fighting McCain, not Palin. McCain, for many purposes, is a less attractive candidate than Palin. He does not fire up his base like she does, and he frankly just isn't as attractive or as good as a speaker.
