We've all heard the statistics. 1% of this nation controls 20.3% of the wealth. The rest of the nation (that's 297 million of us) ranges from a smaller slice of the pie to scrambling for the dirt-speckled floor crumbs.
And yet, the vast, VAST majority of Americans still vote their eyes, heartstrings, or loins instead of their pocketbooks. While this is a fascinating subject for psychologists, it's absolutely maddening. Dear old Abraham Maslow is spinning in his grave. The basic needs of our society MUST be met before we can spend any time on more complex issues.
Hey, poor (and even middle-class) Republicans, the Democrats are going to help you. Your wages will increase, your children's debt to foreign nations will decrease, and for God's sake, you'll finally have health care. I won't even talk about taxes, real abortion numbers, and crime.
And as for you top 1%ers, ask yourself, what are you even doing with all that money, seriously? If you take home $7,500,000 this year instead of $8,000,000, is your life going to change in any significant way? If so, you're spending too much damn money. I don't know how it happened, but living below your means became a stigma for monks and serfs instead of sound economic advice for all. Only the little people pay taxes, and only the little people should have to balance a checkbook.
Anyway, Whatsthematterwithkansasites, have you got to lose? If the last eight years are any indication, not a whole lot. You're already broke, sick, and alienated from your fellow man. Give a Democrat a chance.
