We only have weeks to go now. Every vote counts and the deep blue of Seattle combined with the crimson of the eastern part of the state makes us light blue in Washington. I have been phone banking this past week and It seems like everyone I talk to here is already for Obama--But that is not a reason not to work with gusto. It puts you square in touch with what folks are thinking and every vote really will make a difference.
Here is info you can use to get out the vote in Seattle and elect Obama-Biden.
I love talking to voters. And being on the ground in this historic election is not only exciting, but feels incredibly important. There are plenty of options:
- From now to November, you can phone bank any evening from 5-8:30 p.m. at 614 First Ave., third floor in downtown Seattle.
- This month every Saturday we are registering voters in Seattle. We meetup at Montlake Branch Library, 2401 24th Ave. E. Seattle, There are two shifts: 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- This Sunday, Sept. 7, you can meetup at Obama headquarters, 1301 Mercer St. in Seattle to canvass at noon.
- Finally, you can sign up to be a Neighborhood Leader in your precinct, which is usually 5-10 blocks of your neighborhood. In this capacity, you can coordinate with other volunteers to get everyone to the polls on election day. I am a NL and there is a training today at 6 p.m. at Obama headquarters, 1301 Mercer St. in Seattle.
For more information, Seattle campaign headquarters phone line is: 206-903-0172.
From everywhere in the country, of course, you can go to my.barackobama.com, and phone bank from there using the online tool, under talk to voters or the new neighbor to neighbor tab, with the exact same pool of potential callers that we are using at headquarters. Log on!
Everybody find your local headquarters. Be the change you seek.
