Ok,
I have donated to Obama several times since the primaries. Probably around $300-$400 in all. I can definitely afford more but I also wanted more.
Follow me over the bump.
I know he spends a bunch of his funds on organizing and grassroots stuff but that has never inspired me to really dig deep. For me, it was always about slamming McCain and slamming him hard. Not just on policy issues, such as taxes, like Obama has tended to do but also on his integrity, temperment and judgement.
I understood when Obama did not hit back when McCain released his "Celebrity Ads". At that point the media was doing a good job of blaming McCain for going ugly. But I figured he would eventually use that as cover to starting ripping McCain. But it just never came the way I saw today.
This is what I have been waiting on. Sure, McCain is wrong on all the issues but he also has no integrity and THAT is where he will lose the election. It was a stupid thing to say, but Rick Davis was right. The election is not about issues. How else could Sarah Palin actually benefit McCain in the polls. McCain has so many weaknesses that, if Barack would get mean, it would be over in a minute.
I hope this is the start of that, and in that spirit I am now donating $400 to Obama. This is by far my largest outlay at one time. And the next time he releases an ad like this he gets another $400 from me.
The time for being nice is over. Let's rip 'em a new one!!
P.S. : From now on just for fun I will refer to the Rethug Ticket as PALIN/mccain, not vice versa, since it is clear who is the top of the ticket. mccain is so pathetic, he couldn't draw a crowd if he was making it rain like Pac Man Jones. (EDIT: Since someone asked, Pac Man Jones is a football player who started a strip club brawl by throwing $100 bills in the air at the strippers. Otherwise known as "making it rain")
