I wish! Obama needs to hit back hard to stop McCain from hijacking the change mantra.
So, this is what I’d like to hear from the Obama camp this week. (Maybe if it makes the rec list, then someone important will see it).
"John McCain finally realized that his policies are out of line with what Americans want, so now he’s trying to repackage his tired old politics to sound more appealing. And what does he have the gall to call it? You guessed it: change.
Buyers beware: the only change you’ll see is in the names of the people proposing the failed policies, not the policies themselves!
If you just want different people enacting the same failed economic policies that have cost us tens of thousands of jobs, then vote McCain-Palin.
If you want different leaders giving the same ol’ tax cuts to corporations who ship our jobs overseas, then vote McCain-Palin.
If you only want different people, but the same political spin, lies and pandering for votes then vote for Sarah Palin and John McCain.
If you think change is merely a different slew of lobbyists running a campaign, then John McCain is your man.
If you want a whole new set of stubborn people who won't end the misguided war in Iraq and bring our troops home, then vote for McCain-Palin
If you just want a different government deciding that women should have no control over their bodies or that gay people should be ostracized, then vote McCain-Palin.
If you just want a different administration that will misuse their power, ignore dissenting opinion, and refuse to be held accountable, then vote for Sarah Palin and John McCain.
If you think that George Bush got it 95% right and that we’re barely off course in our economic policies, then John McCain is your man.
If you just want a different face touting the same empty rhetoric when you tune into the State of the Union address next year, then by all means vote for John McCain.
But, if you think that change means more than a slogan to rescue your dying campaign, then I ask you to give us your support.
If you think this country is on the wrong track and that we need fundamental change to restore it, then I ask for your support.
If you think we need completely different policies to put this country on the right course, then I’m asking for your vote.
