Inspired by a comment in a diary about the Obama campaign's response to the despicable McCain "sex ed" ad, I pondered whether the O campaign was better at snark than any dem campaign in a long time.
Follow below for the conclusion and an invitation to some Palin-break participation.
A follow-up response from Buzzer noted that snark only works for those who get the joke. Which got my mind to spinning, so I wrote:
I think it would be neat if the campaign could work in some cultural references with teh snark, like "we can't fight terrorism like we're Jack Bauer - he's a fictional character." Or "47 million Americans can't call Dr. House when they get sick."
So here's the ground rules: take a cultural reference, like a current TV show, a hot musical act, or movie, and find a way to use it in a sentence that either promotes an Obama talking point, or refutes a McCain talking point.
For instance, here's one more that would probably lead to cries of ageism, but I'll throw it out to get the ball rolling:
Re: international relations: "It's not enough to yell 'Get off my lawn!' when you're dealing with rogue states."
See how it works? Let's put some of the ingenuity and creativity of the Kos community to work on this.
If the diary doesn't float away into oblivion, I'll gather the best and post another one tomorrow.
