So many of you are upset with President Obama ever since he started to make his cabinet picks; everyday on this site there seems to be someone complaining about him. Yesterday I finally saw the phrase I was expecting to see for a while: Republican-Lite. I saw many of you use the term to describe President Clinton and I found it pure bull then as I found it pure bull now. I on the other hand have been quite pleased with the Obama Administration so far. Sure I haven’t agreed with everything but he is doing exactly what I expected him too. I am sure he will do good things and President and I look forward to his term (or terms) in office.
Now the reason I started to support President Obama in addition to his charisma and his brilliance was his ideological stance. I have always been someone who has been on the center left of the political spectrum. I became hooked on politics due to Bill Clinton and I like politicians in his mold, pragmatists not ideologues. That is why I have never been fans of Democrats like Dennis Kucinich or Michael Moore. Some of you might say Clinton was center-right because he would be so on the political spectrum used in places inside Europe but this isn’t Europe. We have our own political spectrum and our own way of doing things.
It seems many of you want to see a Democratic George W. Bush. You think President Bush was partisan for eight years so Democrats should be the same way. But this was not what President Obama was about. His campaign was bringing a change to the politics as usual in Washington. To him Republicans are not the Anti-Christ rather friendly rivals. So yes he will be bi-partisan. So what if the GOP is petty lets be the bigger person. People keep saying three of his Cabinet picks are Republican but that means 12 of his Cabinet Picks are Democrats. Yes they may not all be as liberal as you will like but I think all are qualified and good picks, especially the pick of Hillary Clinton. Yes Clinton can be a hawk at times but she also understands diplomacy. So end of the day I am pleased with this President.
