There seems to be a debate raging everyday about the public option, Obama's lack of leadership on this front, town halls, and everything in between. It is time to see where the community stands on these choices.
We had David Axelrod state today this astonishing proclamation:
As to the fate of a government option plan to compete with private insurance, Axelrod suggested the controversial concept is gone but not forgotten: "The spirit that led him to support a public option is still very much at play here and so you know he wants competition. He wants choice."
Do you think that they could help us out a bit and define "competition" or "choice"? No wonder we are all dazed and confused because the people in charge of speaking for the administration do not tell us what they mean in practical terms.
Well, no more trial balloons for us! This is a pretty unequivocal statement that says the public option is dead.
The public option is gone? Is this the final word from the Obama administration, before his speech next week meant to soften the blow for the supporters of a public option?
I didn't know that it was gone, but not forgotten. Someone better tell the media as many are still talking as if the public option is still a viable concept. This is a truly remarkable turn of events, if true.
Now for the poll! Please vote and if I have forgotten an option, use the comments to state your preference.
