The Caroline Kennedy detractors, including Markos (who has done a wonderful job of insulting her on this site), should take a short step back and think about this smart and poised individual's life.
And address the "elephant in the room". The one date in this country's history that has affected many of us.
11/22/63.
Although her family was destroyed by politics, CK has adjusted into public service admirably.
This country NEEDS the kind of character she has displayed since then. (Whether from humble beginnings or not).
The Senate seat is not a consolation prize to her or to the country. But for Dems to deride her as a cheap imposter becuase she has not held public office before ignores history. And the fact that many great Senators did not hold public office before they became Senators.
After years of noble charitable service she recently decided to go from the comfortable, low-profile life her mother set out for her and to engage the public life of her father.
I think Americans, particularly Dems, should support her in this. To some of us, this act is inspiring.
For Markos to trash CK with this quote is beyond contempt
the Kennedy attraction was based on her pedigree and little else. As people got a look beyond the powerful last name, there was little else to commend her.
Wow. WTF?
Then let's tease the audience with a threat of future poll results!
We've got our own R2K polling of New York in the field right now, and we'll hopefully have results ready to go tomorrow.
If she is willing to put herself out Dems should support her, rather than trash her as some kind of imposter.
