The first popular music album I ever bought was one by Pete Seeger back about 1966. The contributions of Pete Seeger to folk music, to peace, to civil rights, to environmentalism are more than could listed in a single diary.
A quote from a story in Huffington Post about Pete:
Seeger is without doubt the most influential folk artist of the past century. No one can get a crowd singing like Seeger...His songs are sung by people in cities and villages around the world, promoting the basic idea that the hopes that unite us are greater than the fears that divide us.
