The Gaza Palestinians have lost the war. To be exact they lost it in the late 1940's when the state of Israel was created by 'the world' and hundreds of thousands of Jews worldwide sailed, rode, or walked to the new state of Israel.
It is time for Palestine to re-think their options. Israel is a member state of the UN, the same body that worked with Europe, the West, and the world to make Israel a state...and exactly where it is. The Palestinians are not UN members (ok...they have a UN observer, but that was just a nice touch, a gimme, from the UN).
The land that is Israel is not going back to Palestinian hands, except through purchase or marriage. It will never go back due to a threat, a mortar, a missile, a suicide belt, or anything. The war is over. The reality of war must sink in at the individual Palestinian level.
There is no 'right of return'. The land is gone, just as Rome was sacked and the land was taken, just as when Alexander the Great sacked Asia, just as the Europeans sacked North and South America.
There are no do-overs in history. (except for the ones we give the poor hapless Arab...read on...)
Israel should (by convention) have all of the Sinai Peninsula, they obtained it fair and square after the fledgling IDF kicked the arses of the Egyptians in 1967. Egypt attacked Israel preemptively and then lost to Israel preemptively...6 days later. Israel did not have to give the Sinia back, wars can and have been fought with the idea of expanding territory as one of the outcomes (its called a war of conquest). But what did Israel do? It 'gave it back', a do-over to the losers as pressure from the 'world' built up.
The Gaza Palestinians need to wrap their heads around the notion that Israel is here to stay, and that 'their land' is gone.
If they don't, they will be in this war of attrition until Israel really gets fed up and removes 1-million armed beggars to the West Bank...and then go after the proxy puppet-masters (Iran, Hezbolla, Syria).
Palestinians need to think about growing an economy, education, creating wealth...how about getting to the point that you can join the UN (without a terrorist organization running the people).
Palestinians need to get beyond victim hood and close certain chapters in their history, otherwise is just wont be a pretty ending...and there will be ending. Just don't count on Israel going anywhere for a long long time.
Right or wrong, its over. Israel won.
All this posturing by The Pals and Iran and other Arabs is a game to keep their peoples distracted so that they can remain in power.
(Hardly anyone can name a general who went up against Alexander the Great, nor can they name the general who lost Rome...history is like that...and for those of you who can (like me): it was a rhetorical statement meant to provoke thought, not a game of TRIVIAL PURSUIT for you to claim victory!)
Its over!
