Fair is fair...the very same questions we were asking of the Bushies now must be asked of President Obama and his national security team.
It is clear there is a significant faction within the caucus that like to get their war on, and have always considered the war in Afghanistan as the "right" war.
But here is my very simple question for President Obama:
What does winning in Afghanistan look like?
As an add on and blast from the past:
What are our goals?
How will they be measured?
What is our exit strategy?
Inserting another 100,000+ troops into Afghanistan and trying to reproduce the "surge" is idiotic at best...just ask the British and the Russians.
Also, the "government" of Afghanistan is turning out to be a bunch of robber barons...is this who we are going to keep in power?
Add the growing ties with India, the Afghan government could find itself caught up the the conflict between India and Pakistan. The Pakistani security forces created the Taliban and have some sympathy for them still, this development might fuel an active support that would undermine American goals (whatever they are) in the region.
