WHEE (Weight, Health, Eating and Exercise) is a community support diary for Kossacks who are currently or planning to start losing, gaining or maintaining their weight through diet and exercise or fitness. The WHEE series started around the same time I came to the conclusion that my lifestyle was killing me. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I wear my seatbelt. I am a boring american that follows the rules, but I never really got the rule book for the care and feeding of the human body. Yeah, I have taken human nutrition courses. But the need for healthy food and a balanced diet as well as exercise never clicked in my head. I was a thin teenager, I could eat anything I wanted and stay thin. But that didn't last.
With almost 50 years of life experience you would think I knew what to do. All I really knew was that something had to change. Thankfully this group has given me plenty to read, review and consider.
I bought a pedometer after reading the best $25 I've ever spent. Now I am counting my steps and finding ways to add steps to my day.
I have bought some books after reading about Edwards WHEE bookshelf.
I laughed really hard at some really cool graphs.
I got a YOGA CD so I could see if it is something that would work for me. My rhuematologist really recommends Yoga for autoimmune arthritis.
I started going out and walking on photo adventures thanks to the inspiration of this diary.
And I have learned so much more. WHEE has Geeked Fitness and Muscle diaries, discussions of genetics and disease. Even recipes that are shared and require no trolls. It is all here folks. Intelligent conversation. Well written and researched diaries. Folks that care.
