Alan Grayson was great on the Ed Schultz Show.
He really knows how to laugh off an attack and turn it around not just to beat up on the attacker but to make the point he wants to make in an even stronger way. It's really pathetic how few Dems can stay so unapologetically on the offensive the way he does. He also keeps his message simple and blunt and makes the moral arguments that most of his fellow Dems are failing so badly to make in the health care debate.
As Ed Schultz says in the clip, "This debate is not about cost curves and projections, it's about life or death."
He told Grayson some of the character assassination statements about him coming out of Republican headquarters and asked for his response.
GRAYSON: My response is WHATEVER. America is sick of you, Republican Party. You are a LIE FACTORY - that's all you ever do. Why don't you work together with the Democrats to solve America's problems instead of making stuff up?
Now if only Grayson would join the progressive caucus saying he won't vote for any health care bill without a robust public option (one tied to Medicare rates plus five percent). Then he'd be just about near perfect.
Anyway, enjoy the clip, over the jump!
