Well, I really hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I guess SOMEBODY has to do it. Survey-USA has released another poll regarding the the governors race in Virginia - and things just keep getting worse.
The new poll has Bob McDonnell leading Creigh Deeds by a whopping 59% to 41%. Deeds is even losing "Deeds Country." Deeds is losing men and women, young and old, and is losing every geographic part of the state, including the northern Virginia suburbs, which has been the source of multiple statewide victories for Democrats this decade.
McDonnell is pulling a pretty good number of black voters in this poll as well, losing them to Deeds by 67% to 31%. According to those on the ground in southeastern Virginia, McDonnell is pulling a good chunk of the black vote, backing up his 31% level statewide. Deeds also is having problems with AA elected officials in southeastern Virginia, most notably Lionel Spruill, who is quietely helping McDonnell, just like Spruill did to the Democratic candidate for congress in 2008. However, Deeds has done nothing to reach out to the black community. And there seems to be a level of mistrust there, after former Governor Doug Wilder refused to endorse Deeds for Governor.
According to the poll, Deeds running mates are also running behind their apponents by double digits. And with the Virginia Democratic Party's Joint Campaign being underfunded and being managed incompetently, the liklihood of Deeds pulling this out looks slim.
In addition, there are rumors circulating around the state that Deeds' cash is drying up, never a good sign at this point in any election.
