I wish I had wrote most of these myself, but a fellow named Fred Stopsky (Who has one of my favorite blogs on myspace) wrote it. The first 17 are his. I added to it though. I'm sure a lot of you have great reasons as well, and since we are winning on healthcare reform, I say we give that rock on the top of the mountain one heaping push forwards. I know that I only added a few others here, but I know that all of you readers out there have some nifty ideas, and would like to add to this and pass it on perhaps. I know this is a diary advocating for "National" Health, but I am very excited about things like the public option for example. It's a step in the right direction, and the bigger steps we take, the more rewards we get from our hard work here, day after day of calling and e-mailing and blogging. Our hardwork will pay off.
I will update this periodically if there are lots of jarring things that I missed. I have schoolwork to do in between, so I don't know how often I will look at the comments. But at least I'll try.
- Believe it or not, people get sick and need a doctor.
- Our current health insurance program ensures those who own health insurance companies are well off.
- Republicans are against a national health insurance which means, by definition, it must be correct.
- Every modern industrial nation in the world has a national health insurance program except the United States and China. Think about it, the capitalists and the communists agree on one thing.
- Only in America are those without health insurance told to wait four years and maybe they will have it.
- If I get sick, I really need to see a doctor--now!
- Every Congressmen and member of the Executive has government run health care. Since they represent the American people we are entitled to what they have.
- I believe in Socialist ideas like government run police, firemen, the military, VA, and the government health insurance for federal workers.
- I am a whimp who wants a doctor to treat me when I am diagnosed with cancer.
- I want a doctor to deal with my illness, not the strangers in the Emergency Ward.
- I always find it ironic when Republicans say they want people to have contact with a doctor who knows them and in the next breath they say going to the Emergency Ward with strangers is OK.
- Children should be seeing a doctor on a regular basis.
- Preventive care is the best way to AVOID illness.
- Senior citizens have a national health insurance program, why can't their children have the same thing?
- The Declaration of Independence says we have a right to the pursuit of happiness. It's a lot easier pursuing happiness if you are healthy.
- Health insurance means people live longer. I always thought the object of seeing doctors was to live longer.
- I am willing to be against national health insurance if all members of Congress and the Executive plus Rush, Bill, Glenn and Tea Party nuts agree to end having health insurance and depend on the Emergency Ward for their health problems.
+++Here is what I am adding+++
- Electronic medical records ensure you don't have to travel across the country to get paperwork.
- They are (on paper anyways) the ONLY industry exempt from Anti-Trust regulation.
- Because I pay for enough shit as it is. I want it FOR FREE. Given to me. Why should I be forced to buy shitty health insurance when the countries ranked as having "the best" healthcare
21.We are going to get it eventually anyways, why not now?
