Weekly Standard Celebrates United States Not Getting The Olympics

The Weekly Standard managed a twofer on Friday; they showed both how big of bunch of pseudo-patriotic douchebags they are, and followed that up with a dose of cowardice.

This is how they greeted the news that Chicago had lost out on their bid to host the 2016 Olympics, an event, by the way, that could have generated more than $22 billion and thousands of jobs:

And then, perhaps realizing what total assholes that made them look like:

... the post has now been changed. The reference to cheers have been removed and the title has been shortened to a non-exclamatory “Chicago Loses.” The current post neither acknowledges nor explains the changes that were made.
