British customers have been complaining about seeing adverts from Waitrose, one of our largest grocery chains, on the Glenn Beck show following his 'Obama is a racist' remarks. Now Waitrose has responded by pulling its ads from not just the Beck show, but Fox News altogether.Fox News altogether
Waitrose is not a 'discount' chain but a very mainstream, middle-class one. However, it is different from others in the same category for one big reason: it's part of an employee-owned co-operative, along with the John Lewis department store chain. So I'm not surprised that Waitrose has responded to customer pressure in this way--just cheered.
Hope to see many other British companies follow suit, until the nastiness that is Glenn Beck disappears from our airwaves altogether.
