With all the negative garbage coming out of the opponents mouths right now, maybe we as loyal Obama supporters should thank the committee for awarding the prize if we agree with them.
I may not be able to get my face on tv, or get the media to print what I say, but I can sure write a letter. Isn't that one of the reasons I am still paying off the student loan from college? I am sick to death of hearing the right wingers scream that Obama isn't qualified to win the prize. I happen to disagree. I think that his entire life is an accomplishment, that's why I voted for him. And that is why I am proud to be an American today, and proud to have our President represent us around the world. We Americans are so self centered, and it's important to look at how the entire world sees us to gain a better perspective.
So I decided to make my voice heard. I sat down and wrote the Nobel Committe a letter to thank them for the honor that they have bestowed upon our President, and the positive view they have of our country right now. To me, those things are important. Maybe it's because I have a Mom who is Canandian. But it matters to me how we as Americans are portrayed and perceived in other countries.
Frankly, I was embarassed by President Bush and by Bill Clinton (about his personal issues). I am happy to finally have a president that I can personally admire, and point out to my son as a fine man and a person to emulate and respect. President Obama is a worthy person who has proven that his life's work is to better our country, something that will hopefully lead to more stable peace in our country and in the world.
If you feel that President Obama deserves the award, please take a few minutes to let them know.
