Yes the diary title is true. Because of this, we need to do is a web ad showing how Lieberman flip-flopped on this issue, in that this goes into the heart of credibility. If this man was against the public option then why was it included in his plan. People will see right through Lieberman. We must also go into heart of competence. By competence, I mean having a command of the issue. Lieberman recent statements indicate that he is either lying or incapable of understanding healthcare. For example, Lieberman must know that government is already in the insurance business. The federal government provides flood insurance that's been around for decades. So he cannot say that government cannot run an insurance program. That's another idea for an ad. We also need an ad on how much money he has been receiving from the health insurance companies especially now. And lastly, we need an ad showing that this man was against the filibuster but wants to use it to stab the Dems in the back. I think the time is ripe for demolishing this guy's reputation including with the beltway.
As for stripping his chairmanship, I am not too sure that this will be effective as some believe. This could create more fissures within the Democratic party. It's bad enough that the Senate Democrats do not have their act together. This may complicate things. But I will say that we should use it as the last resort. A more effective way of dealing with him, is digging up dirt on this fellow. Look how Mike Ross shut his trap when it was discovered that there was a shady land deal. So far I don't know if there's any but it's worth a try.
