(I changed the title to help get my point across.)
Ok, I'm tired of giving this guy the benefit of the doubt. His tone of voice when asking questions is so bullying and pre-defining of the answer he expects, it's ridiculous.
While he needs to be tough to break the cycle of soundbites that seem to make their way around the media (via the meat puppets spouting them)...he is de-valueing his auguements by sounding like a petulant 4th grader who isn't getting his way.
I think he interrupted Tim Geithner in almost every question answer session this morning. While Mr. Geithner was there to make the case for the administration, and while it is understandable that Mr. Gregory would want to shake him off his soundbites...he is almost unbearable in his approach to doing so.
It almost seems like a Bill O'Reilly-ish type of attack mode, and that just strikes me as inappropriate for MTP.
It could just be me, but I would prefer a dignified, intelligent host, who is able to ask the right question(s) without puffing out his chest and raising his voice while cutting someone off in mid-sentence.
I don't mean to be an apologist for this administration, but I believe they are doing a more than fair job at digging us out of the worst economic downturn in modern history...and David Gregory's tone implied that they were the ones who got us here, and that they aren't doing enought to get us out.
He is/was off base, and I am so tired of it.
