This is a rant and I'm going to try to keep the "bad words" to a minimum. Republican. Oops, messed up already. Democrats who compromise on key issues. Oops, there I go again.
I recently heard on some news program (from the other room), "Abortion is not health care".
Granted, it is the termination of "a life" or a potential live birth and as such, pro-lifers say that is not health care for those cells.
But the dumb SOBs ought to at least realize that THERE IS A WOMAN involved in the abortion! It is NOT just about a zygot, fetus, clump of cells, "baby", future baby, LIFE, whatever one chooses to call the growing mass of cells that MAY, and I say MAY because not all pregnancies end with the birth of a child, come to live and breathe on this earth.
In the USA, women enjoy a high level of civil rights as compared to other countries around the world. Those rights came by fight and negotiation and legislation . The one with fewer rights ALWAYS has to fight to have more.
It is a slap in my face to say to me that the life that could (at one time) grow in my body HAS MORE RIGHTS THAN I DO! WHY? I am breathing. I have a life. I have goals, aspirations, wants, wishes, fears, etc. I am a life. Why do "pro-lifers" think that because I became pregnant, that my life is subservient to the life within my body?
I steam at the thought that the SOB who took part in the creation of that life in a woman's body and who doesn't want anything to do with that life, BEARS ONLY THAT which he wants to or can be sued to provide.
WHY do these idiots think that women chose abortion as a route to begin with? Do they think that the procedure is a f**king walk in the park? Do they not think that we have feelings, emotional and physical?
Why have women chose to terminate prenancies? Might it have something to do with people who malign them for "getting pregnant?" Might it have something to do with not being able to take care of the child because she HAS NO HELP and can't provide financial care herself because she has a low end job or at one time, no possibility of ever getting a job? Might it have something to do being forceably impregnated? Might it have something to do with her own health and ability to carry that life to full term?
WHO THE HELL has done any studies about those children who are carried in the wombs of women who didn't want to continue the pregnancy? Is there some chemical that affects the child FOR-EVER? I never heard of THAT study!
I'm just so angry.
Cells with no brain mass or brain stem have MORE RIGHTS than a fully grown woman. It's one thing to not get to vote, to not get to own land or property, to have to stay at home or stay clothed a certain way, to get blamed if some man rapes you, to have to tolerate incestuous treatment because there is no place to turn. And then they tell us that the life in our bodies has more rights that a woman does?
And then to tell me that the abortion procedure is not health care? They don't care about women dying in agony from a botched abortion as happened for centuries. I guess "they asked for it."
I don't even like these people who want to put on others what they are not willing to do themselves. IF THEY CARED so much about LIFE, they wouldn't/couldn't drive a car or live in a home of any comfort - while MILLIONS of breathing babies are dying from hunger!
Rant on hold.
