We already knew that WorldNetDaily is blowing a lot of smoke when it claims to be a reputable, Christian-based journalistic organization. However, with their backing of Muslim Mafia author Paul David Gaubatz even in the face of what appear to be egregious privacy violations, the only reasonable conclusion is that all its hand-wringing about the Obama administration sticking its nose where it doesn't belong is just a bunch of hot California air. One can only hope this is the moment that Joseph Farah's online rag finally jumps the shark.
For those who don't know, earlier this week a federal judge ordered Gaubatz to return several documents he used in his "exposé" of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, as well as delete several documents from his Website. It's my considered, non-lawyer's opinion that the main reason for this injunction was that Gaubatz posted documents containing the names, home addresses and phone numbers of CAIR employees and donors. Any legitimate publisher would cancel Gaubatz' contract. But not WND. Instead, it's trying to build a legal defense fund for Gaubatz.
I've searched WND over the past few days (when I've had time, no thanks to car trouble) to find a statement of any sort disapproving of Gaubatz' posting of people's addresses and phone numbers online. I've found nothing. Combined with WND shouting to the skies that those evil radical Mooslims are trampling on free speech, I can only assume that WND condones Gaubatz' actions.
I would think that this is something that would anger even the most rabid teabagger. Can you imagine if some liberal group posted the names, home addresses and phone numbers of people who gathered at the numerous tea parties? Come on--no one deserves that, not even teabaggers.
