For those who haven't heard, Wes Pruden published a delightful little opinion piece in "Washington Times" today containing, among other gems, this paragraph:
"It's no fault of the president that he has no natural instinct or blood impulse for what the America of "the 57 states" is about. He was sired by a Kenyan father, born to a mother attracted to men of the Third World and reared by grandparents in Hawaii, a paradise far from the American mainstream."
After reading that, I couldn't deny myself the small pleasure of updating Wes Pruden's Wiki page. Sometimes, a quick public statement needs to be made, even in defiance of protocol.
Naturally, the correction was quickly reversed, but here's a screeshot of what it said:
UPDATE: Fair cop to AKMask for calling me a vandal, but here's what he wrote on the Wiki page instead:
"On November 17th, 2009, Pruden published an opinion piece in the Washington Times titled "Obama bows, the nation cringes," where he set forth some thoughts on the breaches of etiquette committed by President Obama on his tour of Asia, such as bowing to Emperor Akihito of Japan."
Perhaps another revision is in order? I'm not sure Pruden's position ought to be presented as a fact, AKMask.
