As the Hill has reported, there is some claim that Reid has gotten to Lieberman, and that the Senator of no party is on board and will allow for a final cloture vote on the Senate HCR Bill.
The Hill is claiming it's sources are "sources" or "the source". Didn't we already learn our lesson with the whole Obama hates the PO and is trying to stab Reid in the back fiasco from just a week ago?
Unnamed sources are a waste our time, and should not be considered news.
More of the rant after the Fold:
Now don't get me wrong, I am glad that there is news of Lieberman at least talking with Sen. Reid, and that there might be a compromise. But I am not going to be all happy go lucky about it, and start parading through the streets, because we might have, according to some person who doesn't want to be named, maybe got him to bend enough to just maybe get enough votes to now we only have to worry about the two other Blue Cross Blue Coward Democrats (Possibly three, who knows, it changes everyday.)
But it just doesn't match up with Lieberman's track record of being an inconsistent idiot.
He has said in the past few days:
Lieberman said that he’d vote against a public option plan "even with an opt-out because it still creates a whole new government entitlement program for which taxpayers will be on the line."
Sen. Joe Lieberman said Sunday that America would be better off with no health care bill instead of one that includes a government-run public health insurance option.
And there is of course this:
And then there is Sen. Joe "I don't have a party" Lieberman's voting record, which shows that he votes more times than not, in favor with the GOP, or in opposition to the Democrats. (As far as the current Congressional session).
So I have to ask, why do we continue to use unnamed sources as a means of information?
All evidence shows that this claim is probably not true.
If it is, then I will be the first to scream in joy, that we are only a couple of idiots away from getting HCR, but if it isn't, then it will just prove once again,
Don't Trust Sources Who Can't Even Give You a Name.
