Christian Nationalist have been secretly sewing seeds of faith and salvation within a political movement.
It's the last Saturday in August, as well as Sen. Edward Kennedy's funeral. Televised nationally on major cable networks and those watching were automatically entrenched in his history. There was a steady stream of camera angles that introduced us to Ted's large family, old-time friends and Congressional figures from both parties. I was fascinated and taken back by the cameras view as it scanned the intricate details of this beautiful age-old cathedral. Of course, this is only one Holy assembly out of millions that spot the terrain of this great nation. From the backwoods to the largest of urban areas, reverent places that open their doors every seventh day of each week for the faithful to worship as they wish.
I fear that for a selected few this freedom to worship on one day, morning -- afternoon or evening is not enough. Christian Nationalist have been secretly sewing seeds of faith and salvation within a political movement. They are blaming the nations problems on MTV, gay-rights, abortion, pornography and evolution for the reason God has, and continues to withdraw his favor from this great nation. Their agenda ultimately is on conquering the courts and changing the way we live. Installing a new face of the judiciary code that state governments criminalize abortion, gay rights and basically anything off-color. It could sanction the reinstitution of school prayer, the teaching of creationism and permit the ever greater Christianization of the countries social services.
Remember Roy Moore? You know, the former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court who installed a 2.5 ton granite monument of the Ten Commandment's in the Alabama Judicial Federal Building, a flagrant violation of the "Separation of Church and State" that resulted in his removal from office while giving martyr status for Christian conservatives across the nation. Today we learn that Roy Moore, the martyr, is running for Governor of Alabama and has been endorsed by Chuck Norris. Why?
I referenced Mr. Moore because he represents Joshua, the biblical warrior of present day, but to understand the Christian Nationalist agenda we look back in history to 1988. It was the year that TV evangelist Pat Robertson entered the presidential race. Rev. Robertson is the founder of the Christian Coalition, and the pivotal figure in the development of Christian Nationalism. His broadcasting network spans TV and radio programs in 71 languages to almost every country in the world. In his book "The New World Order", he helped to put Dominionism at the top of the movement. It gave Christians the idea that they had the God given right to force religion into politics and each of our lives. Rev. Robertson ran on a very Christian conservative platform. Among his policies, he wanted to ban pornography, reform the education system, and eliminate departments such as the Department of Education and the Department of Energy. He also supported a constitutional amendment requiring a balanced federal budget.
I'm sorry, but I entertain a totally different view of what happened in 1988. In my opinion, the attempt to install Rev. Robertson in the presidential campaign was the year that God started to wonder if this idea of a new world order was just a tad too much. I'm not sure if God is withdrawing his favor, I'm not sure what that is, but I do think God has a suspicious frown on his face. My opinion also concludes that this great nation, with Constitution, is working precisely as planned. It is the "Separation of Church and State" that is under a political siege.
This great nation is constantly put in turmoil by a court decision called Roe V. Wade. This Texas wake-up call was decided by the late Warren Burger, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Justice Burger was a Presbyterian and nominated by Richard Nixon. No one predicted that Roe V. Wade would be the generating factor of presidential campaigns and contributions. Since 1973, Roe V. Wade has filled pews, offering plates and has caused cultural madness within this great nation. It is in this one ruling that has turned the Nation into enemy number one and the assault is led by the Christian Nationalist. The disappointing part, is that it has also become a road-block to the intelligent lenses of science and research to cure various disease.
The phrase "Separation of Church and State" is derived from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1802 to a group identifying themselves as the Danbury Baptists. In that letter, referencing the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, Jefferson wrote:
Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State.
Would this nation be any different if Rev. Robertson were President, for one-two or, if allowed, four terms? Doesn't matter, either way Generation Joshua's, the new format known as Home-Schoolers was being crafted and well under way. Could there be a parallel to the theory of God's favor and the economy that suffers today. If it is Gods will that this nation be prosperous, why then are we borrowing billions from foreign countries? Does this explain the interior walls of the RNC crumbling down similar to the walls of Sodom.
Tomorrow is Sunday (remember) the day God set aside for all to worship.
