The biggest bunch of baloney I've lately at Daily Kos is this tripe of a diary; Stop Blaming Rahm.
On the rec list, 150 people agree.
Who do you think advises President Obama on his actions if NOT his Chief of Staff, one Rahm Emmanuel.
CANDIDATE Obama spoke out, forcibly, for MANY issues. PRESIDENT Obama seems not ABLE to speak out, lest, he might actually put his neck on a political block over an issue.
Who do you think is responsible for that change?
CANDIDATE Obama spoke out about gay rights. He said he'd be a "fierce advocate". He has YET, as PRESIDENT Obama, to BE that fierce advocate. In fact, his White House is characterizing Joe Avarosis at AMERICAblog as the problem, and reason, that President Obama is having trouble with the gay/lesbian community -- not that that President Obama simply has become an obstacle and not fulfilled his campaign promises.
Who do you think is advising President Obama on this matter if not Rahm Emmanuel?
CANDIDATE Obama spoke out about health care. He said he'd work for reform. Yet, as PRESIDENT Obama, he sat behind closed doors to work out a "deal" with insurance companies. He makes tepid speeches about backing health care and a public option, while behind the scenes, working to protect the insurance companies.
Who do you think is advising President Obama on this matter if not Rahm Emmanuel?
And now, you don't want to hold Rahm Emmanuel to account for the Democratic failure to defeat the Stupak-Pitts amendment.
PRESIDENT Obama is the leader of the Democratic Party. Rahm Emmanuel is his Chief-of-Staff. If the Democratic Party cannot do something, it is, by default, President Obama's failure, and, he is being advised by his CoS, Rahm Emmanuel.
And, you don't want to blame him?
Then, exactly, WHO are you going to blame? Santa Claus?
After he took office, tell me ONE issue that PRESIDENT Obama has been strong on. ONE.
AFTER he took office, tell me ONE person you'd blame for candidate Obama, the strong speaker that spoke of how he'd work to fix issues, becoming "mealy-mouthed" President Obama, not really sticking his neck out if NOT his Chief-of-Staff.
I sat here and watched people speak out about the abuses of the Bush/Cheney administration. Read the Obama diaries. And, have now watched, for almost a year, how President Obama has refused to really take a stand against anything that he campaigned so fiercely against.
Yet, you are willing to sit here and provide cover for that change?
Truly?
Is this a reality-based community or a Democratic echo-chamber?
As bad as the Democratic Party is doing, yes, the Republican Party is worse. That doesn't change the facts.
Tell me when President Obama stuck out his neck since taking office, and, who is his Chief-of-Staff, advising him.
Then, tell me just WHO blame for it if NOT Rahm Emmanuel.
