The time has come to purge Lieberman from the Democratic Caucus.
Call it our own purity test. The Democratic party including Obama is enabling this smug legislator in his own delusions of grandeur. We are partly responsible by raising him to candidacy to the second highest office in the land, and by giving him that opportunity we reduced the standards by which parties chose running mates.
I am no longer concerned about a 60 vote majority. We don't have that anyway. Should we kill health-care explicitly? No, but we should be willing to let it die.
If it diminishes the Dem's prospects in 2010, then so be it. The Republicans managed to force many bills down our throats without a 60% majority. If the Democrats can not do the same they are not the right representatives for me.
If we can't get Global Warming reform with out him then we will do it when he runs as a Republican.
It is amazing that one person that caucuses with Democrats can hold up legislation that an overwhelming majority of Democrats support. I would rather deal with Snowe than Lieberman.
It is time to put him out to pasture. He really enjoys the power we have given him and we should take it away.
He did not support the Democratic candidate for president
He does not support health care reform
He is the opposition because he is looking out for only one of his constituents, himself.
Get rid of him. If he truly supports global warming legislation then he will vote his conscience. If not then he would likely have changed his vote at the last minute for the publicity.
If he is actually a self serving Pollyanna as I suggest then he will cave with the prospect of losing his chairmanship.
I say screw Lieberman regardless of the perceived benefits of his involvement in the Democratic caucus. I have yet to see any benefit received by retaining him.
I also do not agree with everything on the Democratic platform, and agree with the big tent idea. Lieberman is in his own tent about 1 mile from the party's tent.
If we lose real health care reform (public option or even expanded medicare) and Lieberman retains his chairmanship I will not vote in 2010 nor 2012.
Screw Him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
