Have you ever come across a rattlesnake in the wild? There's an involuntary gut reaction, hard-wired by evolution, that will stop most people in their tracks when they here that ominous sound. There really is nothing quite like it.
I live and work in Wyoming. For those of you who haven't visited this great state, I have to tell you there's a lot of prairie out there, with a lot of brush, hiding a lot of snakes. When you work out in it every day, you become attuned to listen for that warning rattle. You know when you hear it, and you better stop and figure out where it's coming from before you step into a world of hurt. I heard that distinct rattling sound just this morning, but it wasn't coming from a pile of sagebrush, it was coming from my computer while John McCain was talking to CBS news.
Did you here it? It was right there in the background as soon as he said "I think he articulated the strategy of counter-insurgency properly... I support him."
Obviously McCain was there to concern-troll about the President suggesting that we may leave Afghanistan at some point in the future. That's expected, but when the "Bomb Bomb Iran" guy says he agrees with the war strategy, that raises the hair on my neck just a bit.
If that wasn't loud enough for you, here's a whopper of rattler on yesterday...
When a snake that size start's rattling, maybe it's time to stop where we are and take a look around before we step into a world of hurt.
