Former Gov. Sarah Palin, who has had a rocky relationship with Juneau, the state's capital city, says in her book there were some ugly threats made against her daughters while they were attending Juneau schools.
In "Going Rogue" Palin wrote:
"In that first year, I was alerted to threats against Willow by students at her Juneau school, one particularly disturbing. Someone posted a note on an Internet site threatening to gang-rape her at school. I never felt safe for her after that. Later, the same thing happened to Bristol."

I must say I am skeptical of the veracity of this claim.
First of all- she is the first to jump down anyone's throat if any perception of insult or threat is in the air. She is extremely vociferous in extending her finger of blame to anyone infringing her space, and to wit- a woman who is relentlessly vindictive if any sort of "injury" or slight is perceived.
I think that this sort of "threat" constitutes a substantial reason to come out with both barrels blazing. But that response was absent from the pit bull with lip stick?
If this is all smoke and fire than the next questions are: Who was harmed, Who benefited, and What damage has been done?
As to who was harmed, the obvious first response would be the children attending the school. Their sense of safety would certainly have been robbed. Her daughter's of course would now have to endure some sort of sense of being the target of gawking, as well as come to grips for perhaps the first time- the obscenity of the painted picture in which they are engrained. The image of the school and it's obviously irresponsible staff would share an equal level of blame and shame. Then come the authorities. How is it they dropped the ball (if there was ever a ball to be dropped in the first place) ?
Who would benefit from this allegation if it was true? No one I can think of...
Who would benefit from this allegation if it were false? Well, Sarah Palin would have an excellent excuse to leave Juneau. Sarah Palin would garner some sympathy from her followers and readers as she would be perceived as the hounded and persecuted troubadour of American rights and Freedoms.
It very much reminds me of a political strain of Münchhausen's syndrome ("A type of malingering or factitious disorder in which the patient, usually a vagrant, wander from hospital to hospital, feigning severe illness of dramatic and emergency nature in order to be admitted. The "patient", always a confabulating, pathologic liar, may even practice self-mutilation in order to prove pain. Once admitted to a hospital, they usually create havoc by demanding special attention and quarreling violently with the doctor and nurses. Their story is clinically plausible - and subsequently invariably found to be false. When detected, such patients leave one hospital and appear in the emergency room of another, and they may sometimes departure from hospital against medical advice").

She does jump from one kettle to the next...
One thing is certain here. There has been an injury sustained. The question is to whom?
