It's late on New Years Eve, and before stepping out to the local hostelry to welcome 2010, I was having a quick surf of the net, and came across this report on BBC.com.
I apologise for the brevity of this posting, but just reading it made me very sad at a time when I wanted to be optimistic for the new year.
Simply stated as good news bad news over the line.

In the detail, only 15 Israelis were killed in 2009 by the "conflict", about the same as a bad weekend for murders in DC, or about 4 hours worth of death by firearm in the US linky
The bad news is that most of them occurred during the Israeli action in Gaza during which a minimum of 1115, and perhaps as many as 1500 Palestinians were killed.
apparently the justifiction for this slaughter was
Israel said it launched the Gaza offensive to stop rocket attacks on its territory.
, which apparently killed nobody.
When will everyone come to their senses and stop this crap?
