Have we become the left's version of Bush apologists? One of the things I detested during Bush's eight years in the White House was the blind loyalty of the Bush supporters. Often putting support for Bush before principle and country. They loved the platitudes.
The more I watch Obama the more he disappoints. Yes I realize that he has to deal with BlueDogs and Republicans. The more I look the more I see someone who readily trades off promises and commitments he made to staunch loyal supporters to appease non-supporters. These concessions usually at the expense of ideals that a majority of Amerricans support.
Stimulus Spending
Health Care Reform
Ending the war in Iraq and Afganistan
Ending torture
Reforming Financial Sector
Climate change legislation
Revoking executive powers claimed during Bush/Cheney administration
Reevaluation of Free Trade agreements
Lets face it this is the short list. So much has been compromised to appease a minority. A minority soundly defeated in the last election. Defeated because so many of their policies failed and Americans voted for a change. Even now the polling shows the American public distrusts the Republicans. Yet Obama continues to let these same discredited groups extract concession after concession.
Do we really want to stay silent? Or minimize our opposition because theoretically he is "our" guy. Or do we actively, loudly oppose his policies?
