California Budget - Love It or Hate It the headlines read. Whichever, we will be living with it.
Can we talk ourselves into thinking it's going to at least create jobs?
California’s new budget provides tax relief for new home buyers.
Although capped at a purchase price of $100 Million, buyers of $800 Million and $900 Million dollar homes will undoubtedly be hiring as they move in. Homes/estates of that size will require maid(s), gardener(s), cook and possibly even a driver to be on staff.
Nannies are going to be needed as well when the proud new home owners leave the kiddies at home to enjoy horse racing ($$ tax relief added) and movies ($$ tax relief added).
Not high paying, challenging jobs you say? Not to worry, it’ll be OK. With cuts to education at the K-12 level, California drops to the very bottom of the United States in dollars spent per pupil. Along with massive cuts to Higher education, the dumbing down of future Californians will be complete in a few short years.
Overall, let’s give one big Huzzah (or gesture of your choice) to the Governator and the Republican thugs up in Sacramento.
Next Installment: Health Care and Social Service Cuts; Exemptions from paying "prevailing wages".
