Last night President Obama welcomed the National Governors Association to the White House for the first formal dinner of the Obama administration, and today they get down to business as the President delivers remarks to the group on implementing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Later in the day, according to a White House press release, the President will open the Fiscal Responsibility Summit, described as:
... a fiscal summit of independent experts and unions, advocacy groups and members of Congress to discuss how we can cut the trillion-dollar deficit that we’ve inherited.
Vice President Biden will join the President for both events, and later this evening, will meet with George Clooney to discuss the conflict in Darfur.
And let me add, this is the first time in my life that I have wished I was the Vice President.
