This requires official action by February 27th. An environmental activist just got 22 years in prison for an arson. Meanwhile, here in New York City, a Wall Street CEO -- George Anderson -- is set to get a deal where he serves 16 days (on weekends) for a DUI killing and Leaving the Scene.
What happened is not in dispute. His SUV was videoed going 60 mph when he hit a 59-year old secretary and knocked her 50 feet. Crushed her.
Eco-arsonist Marie Mason is getting 22 years for non-fatal arson.
Depends who does what. For the CEO driving a Mercedes GL450... a free pass.
ASK FOR A SPECIAL PROSECUTOR:
-- Mayor Bloomberg: 212-NEW-YORK. Hit up his office and Public Affairs
-- Carol A. Robles-Roman, Deputy Mayor for Legal Affairs and Counsel to the Mayor - City Hall 10007 212-788-3000
-- DA Robert Morgenthau - 163 W 125th St # 733 10027 212-864-7884
-- Governor David Paterson, State Capitol, Albany, NY 12224 518-474-8390
-- Attorney General Andrew Cuomo - http://www.oag.state.ny.us/... -- specific online complaint form - or 1-800-771-7755
Yeah, arson is bad. Driving drunk and killing Florence Cioffi matters, too.
MORE BTF :::
There is always the chance that money is changing hands. That this ADA David Hammer is on the take. More likely, the system in New York is set up to bow down to Wall Street.
In either option, this killing and the bizarre wrist-slap treatment must justify appointing a Special Prosecutor.
Hailing a taxi can't turned into a blood sport.
No one was prosecuted for the thousands of Dot.com scams. Merrill participated in the Enron fraud loans. No one was prosecuted.
Not prosecuting Wall Streeters amounts to a virtual immunity.

Requests for information from the District Attorney and New York State got nowhere. Stonewall. They do not have a press release for this case.
60 mph on a downtown Manhattan street at 10:32 P.M. -- driving drunk -- and Leaving the Scene of this fatal accident.. all this is pled to misdemeanor DUI with no element of Manslaughter or Reckless Endangerment or any element of Leaving the Scene with the victim lying crushed in the street.
First time for such a giveaway, ever. Anywhere in New York State.
The cost of a human life goes to nothing and there's no press release.
We can find no similar case in New York State. No admitted drunk driver in a fatal accident has been let off with a minimal sentence. The $350 fine is a mystery on top of it all.
This ADA Hammer is all by himself, legally. Or maybe DA Robert Morgenthau has given up on keeping his ADAs honest.
CEO George Anderson has already pled to the drunk driving charge. He refused the breathalizer. Left the scene for 20 minutes -- long enough to call his lawyer. That part was no mystery. Not at all.
There is no excuse for this. Failure to prosecute -- a disease, drowning New York City.
