UPDATE III: Ok, I apologize for believing anything Politi-ho has to say about anything, and I will never make such a mistake again. You know, a free press is essential to the survival of any democracy, so ours must be in pretty grave danger--because our journalists sucks teh ass! Thomas Jefferson said that information is the currency of democracy, if that's the case, there's a lot of counterfeiting going on around here.
It's hard for me not to get almost violently angry about this kind of bullshit. The media has their agenda, their corporate right-wing masters have set their course and expect them to follow it to the goal. In this case, the goal is to humble the President of the United States. At the risk of sounding like a loon, these people need to be stopped. We need to reclaim our frickin' democracy here, and the media is trying to do all they can to stop that. And I don't think the media is necessarily trying to help the GOP or GOP causes, instead I think they're trying to help themselves--to money. By stirring up controversy they stir up viewership and readerships and profits.
Money is truly the root of all evil.

This breaking over at Politi-ho (yes that's how I spell it), so not much information yet, but this will probably not turn out well. FBI raided the office of Vivek Kundra, the President's choice for Chief Tech Officer.
http://www.politico.com/...
The search is part of "an ongoing investigation," said a spokeswoman for the FBI's D.C. Field Office, Lindsay Gotwin, said. She declined to comment further on the raid of office, at 1 Judiciary Square.
From what I gather, Kundra was the CTO for the District of Columbia before joining the Obama team and the investigation must have something to do with the former appointment for D.C.
But what the hell is going on with the Obama team vetting process? How you gonna hire somebody who's a target of an FBI investigation.
Again, this is developing, so I'm not sure about all the details and I may be interpreting the article incorrectly, but it seems like either this person or the office they ran is under Federal investigation. I will update as new information becomes available.
Kundra's wiki page (for whatever that's worth): http://en.wikipedia.org/...
UPDATE, Thanks to lookit in the comments: http://www.dailykos.com/comments/2009/3/12/1106/84571/24#c24
Looks like Kundra's not the target of the investigation. Now we see why I say Politi-ho, instead of their chosen name. What Bullshit.

UPDATE II:
Yusuf Acar, 40, was taken into custody this morning by FBI agents at his home in Northwest Washington, the sources said. The nature of the charges could not be determined. Channing Phillips, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office, declined to comment on the arrest, saying the case "is under seal."
See this is why I can't stand the mainstream media, many of them will do all they can to bring Obama "down a peg." They will ignore facts, skirt the truth, or just plain make shit up. The one thing we need in this country equally--if not more--than government reform is MEDIA reform. Some news outlets were much more responsible with this story than was Politico, and so I will give them a shout out here: Washington Post, and according to someone in the comments MSNBC made sure to point out it was the facility and not the guy (Kundra) who used to run it. Good on them.
We seriously need a media revolution around here.
