I'm sorry I couldn't do the news round up for the last two days. What I started to do with this one is take time through the day to slowly compile news stories rather than do it in one block of time.

Dr Slammy at Scholars and Rogues argues for investment in progressive infrastructure
More newspapers layoffs. The Coloradoan is moving their printing to the Denver Newspaper Agency.
A new sales tax for Fastracks. Sure propose away, but will voters approve it?
The ACLU lawsuit against Weld county DA Ken Buck is already causing him problems. The judge in the case stopped all investigations based on the records collected.
You'd think Tancredo of all people would have his facts straight on immigration. Nope.
Marilyn Musgrave got a job, and it's every bit as wingnutty as the kind of congresswoman she was. Oh it feels so good to talk about her in the past tense.
The beer fight goes on. A house committee voted down a bill that would allow convenience and grocery stores to sell regular beer.
Senator Udall has signed on as a sponsor of the Federal Land Assistance, Management and Enhancement Act, yes that spells FLAME Act. The bill, S.561:
...establishes a federal fund designated solely for catastrophic, emergency wildland fire suppression activities, separate from appropriated Forest Service and Department of Interior funding. The bill requires the Secretary of Agriculture and the Secretary of Interior to designate how the money is allocated based upon the size, severity and threat of the fire.

According to a PEW poll, Colorado is the ranked third as a high magnet/low sticky state. That means many move here, but relatively few stay who grew up here. That composite rank is made up as a rank of 7th for how many move here, but the 33rd state among its residents who stay. The numbers seem skewed by population size as Alaska is ranked 3rd for percentage who move there.
Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains new blog reminds us that Colorado Springs municipal elections are coming up soon.
The Army is talking again about Pinon Canyon, so Reps. Sal Pace and Wes McKinley have a bill to again block them.
