Ben Smith writes:
Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom confirms that the former Massachusetts governor is helping put together a Boston fundraiser for the Louisiana Governor and a possible rival in 2012.
....
Jindal is up for reelection in Louisiana in 2011, a race that, if -- a he's indicated -- he runs could well rule out a presidential bid.
-Magic Underwearer Mitt Romney abstraction
So.. you can usually tell a politician is lying when you see their lips moving. Jindal said no 2012 run for Senate or POTUS. Apart from his ruinous performance following Obama's "State of the Union. This basically confirms that either Jindal or Romney will not attempt a run in 2012.
The smart money is probably on Jindal not running and that Romney might, but of course, lots of things could change between now and then. It's probable that the money was given on condition
I do wonder, though, how much it must hurt Romney to sign a check to... lets face it, another upper tier candidate, even if it is only for outward unity.
