I think we're on week 11...
Okay, Kossacks... we're apparently eleven weeks into the new year, a year in which some of you have pledged to work at being better at fitness, nutrition, and your weight. The slackers have fallen off the bandwagon, and only the diehards are left. (That doesn't necessarily mean you're making stellar progress--though if you are, kudos to you!--but it does mean that you are committed.)
We're not talking about Cinderella/Fairy Godmother type transformations--a wave of the wand and some bibbity bobbity boo, new you. The kind of stuff we're engaged in is real change, change we can use. ;-) It's slow, conscious development of better habits... the kind of habits that lead to greater health, greater stamina, and more years.
So how are y'all doing?
I think I hit some kind of a fitness breakthrough or something this week. All of a sudden, I feel a little faster when I'm running, I feel a little stronger on my bike, and I can feel real muscles in my legs. This is the most consistently I have exercised since I had my first child 7 1/2 years ago. We have houseguests who haven't seen us in a year. They commented that I have lost weight and am looking trim. :-)
Interestingly, my weight loss is at a standstill, but I've continued to lose inches. I'm kind of thinking it's the aforementioned muscle. Whatever. I just want to feel good and look good in my clothes.
So... weigh in, check in, tell us what you're up to (or down to). This might be a good time to share recipes, share links to other sites, or even to plug other fitness/health/get your butt moving/stop eating that crap diary series here.
I hope you have a great weekend! I'm going skiing.
