I'm on the Newsmax email list so that you don't have to be.
I've been reading the front page diaries here about NY-20, the Special Election coming up on March 31, between Scott Murphy and Jim Tedisco.
One of the things I've noticed is that Jim Tedisco hasn't said whether or not he'd have voted for the Stimulus. Well, I just got the latest from Newsmax and I can now declare that Disco Jim is against it.
Select quotes from the poorly written plea for cash after the jump:
Dear Newsmax Reader:
In just two weeks you can send a powerful message to Congress, the Senate, President Obama — and even the coddling liberal media.
You can express your outrage over President Obama’s plan to increase taxes by more than $1 trillion in the middle of an economic crisis!
Emphasis theirs.
You can send a powerful message to Obama and the Democrats who control the House and Senate that you OPPOSE their new, wild federal spending programs — and the trillions of dollars of federal debt that they are placing on you and your families for generations to come.
No mention about George W. Bush's trillions but I digress. Let's skip ahead.
Polls now show that the Republican can actually win this district!
Polls have never shown the Democratic candidate, Scott Murphy having a lead although he is within single digits now. Skipping ahead
If conservative Jim can win the New York congressional seat recently held by Democrat Gillibrand, this will strike a massive blow to the claim that swing voters are really backing Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Harry Reid.
So if the Republican wins in the Republican district, this will change the whole dynamic in Washington, DC. You can't ever accuse Republicans of underselling their product.
The Democratic bosses even picked a multimillionaire named Steve Murphy as their candidate.
I don't know who Steve Murphy is but I'd probably vote for him over Disco Jim. The actual Democratic candidate is Scott Murphy. Skipping ahead to the part where Newsmax declares Disco Jim to be against the stimulus
By stopping Murphy and the Democrats in this congressional district, we can help stop more phony “stimulus” programs, stop higher taxes, stop Eric Holder’s plan to ban our guns, stop card check for unions, and stop Obama’s plan to legalize 12 million illegal aliens.
There you have it. Jim Tedisco is against the stimulus.
We can win this one and stop Obama’s plans.
Even if they win this one, I don't think it'll make any difference. This screed is a fund raising scheme for the ironically named The National Republican Trust. It sounds like a lot of the kind of spin that we've been seeing lately outside of the courthouse in St. Paul Minnesota. I wouldn't be surprised if Ben Ginsberg had some input into this wonderfully awful fund raising letter. It goes on to include the usual suspects, Reid, Polosi, ACORN, AFL-CIO, etc..
My theory is that the Republicans are in trouble when they begin thrashing about like a flounder on a boat deck. This Newsmax email brightened my day.
