I've fucking had it up to beyond here with this crap. Edward Liddy is testifying to a House subcommittee tomorrow. But while he's likely to face a grilling tomorrow, I fear the point those questioning him are trying to get him to understand will still sail right over his moronic head - not because the politicians aren't all doing a bad job explaining it to him, but just because clearly he just can't fathom why they're grilling him in the first place.
I have a better idea: How 'bout we make him take questions from his majority shareholders: The people of this country he's screwed over?
It could be a simple format, really: Take him on a tour of the cities most impacted by his company's incompetence, and stick him in a public town hall with the people of those cities. Let him see the homes his ill-rewarded execs fucked people out of. Let him really hear the anger in people's voices. Let him know how it really feels to be on trial like the criminal he and his companions so clearly are. I don't care how it's done - just get this bastard out of his insulated orbit around Wall Sreet, because clearly this guy needs to be brought back to Earth - and fast.
Hell, let's do that for all the jackasses who fucked our economy over. And while they're sweating bullets in front of their shareholders, let's make them pay for all the travel costs of dragging them from city to city - force them to use their bonus money pay for all their hotel rooms, meals, gas ('cause it sure as hell won't be a tour where they're flown from city to city...) and all their other travel expenses. They'll be putting money back into the economy, and maybe - just maybe - they might actually finally understand just why everyone's so fucking pissed at them.
I'm sick of this bulshit. Wall Street's still somehow too insulated from the realities of what's happening. Let's get these bastards on the road so they can see the true extent of the damage they've done.
