"Murphy opposes the death penalty for terrorists because it’s too expensive to execute them. He apparently also wants to make sure that when people like the 9-11 hijackers are captured, they get a fair trial where we are certain of their guilt before we lock them away.
These are not the views of a conservative Democrat, or of a Democrat who has learned the lessons of 9-11. Murphy’s views sound more like an old-line liberal in the mold of Mario Cuomo: legalistic and out-of-touch with reality."
When someone asks if you a true american, what do you say? What does that mean? Its very simple, A true american has one thing in common with every other true american the idea that no matter what happens, no matter what enemy we face, or how poor we are, how tierd we are, or how easy it would be, we never give up our principals. we never take the easy way out.
When the chips are down and it looks like all hope it lost, Americans have been there, standing proud,
ready to fight for what is right, not just in the eyes of god, or their neighbors, but basic principals
that we can all get behind: everyone deserves to be happy, everyone deserves freedom, everyone deserves a chance.
All men are created equal!
When I see people saying that "terrorists" shouldn't get a trial or shouldn't be subject to our laws
because they aren't citizens, or they killed a bunch of people, I say to them.
Where are your principals, where is the strength that created this nation out of nothingness?
These are our laws, I don't care who you are or what you did, you will get your chance to say your piece, to do what our forefathers said you could, You are free.
Every human being deserves the same chance, the same options, the same justice.
I believe in the goodness of people, I believe that no one is intentionally evil.
I also say that when good, decent men, turn a blind or lazy eye to a certain group or a certain issue, evil is born.
As anyone who has seen the boondock saints can attest to,
"We all must fear evil, but the evil we must fear the most is the indifference of good men."
When you turn your back on your principals with lies like "They're terrorists!" or "They aren't americans! They don't deserves the same rights as us"
I say to you, Where is your american spirit? Where is the unending will to do whats right, no matter what the cost?
This is my credo.
this, is a true American, and a true
Hero.
