Ran a quick search and found no diaries about this so I thought I'd put it out there. A bill is soon to be introduced in the State House of Representatives here in Harrisburg to legalize the use of medical marijuana in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Apologies for the short diary but there isn't much to go on as yet, however:
As reported by the NORML email newsletter, Pennsylvania Representative Mark Cohen (D - Philadelphia) is working to draft legislation that will make Pennsylvania the fourteenth state in the U.S. to legalize medical marijuana. While the legislation is not set to be formally introduced until next month, and it is expected to face stiff opposition in the House (not to mention the Republican-controlled State Senate) this is certainly a step in the right direction. I encourage all Keystone Kossacks to contact their state Reps and urge them to support Representative Cohen's legislation when introduced.
PhillyNORML has set up this page to make the process of contacting your Representative or Senator easier. Just fill out the boxes and add your message - or use the attached form letter - and click "Send Letter" at the bottom of the page. Pennsylvania is by most measures a blue state at this point, let's keep up the good work and help push for medical marijuana in Pennsylvania.
