I stop by Redstate occasionally. I even have an account there and I've posted here about some of the experiences I've had there. Today what I saw was some pathetic call-to-action for the could-it-be-more-pathetic Tea Party Revolt. Yawn.
The next post was interesting. I like how the author put (Cartoon) in the title. I wasn't sure what to make of the funny little bearded guys in the green suits... I mean, they don't look like real people, it's not like most pictures of people I have seen and I - oh! It's a cartoon! Now I get it!
Below is a picture (PICTURE) of the article which includes the cartoon (PICTURE INCLUDING CARTOON BELOW):
Don't go to the link.
So the "Messiah","the One" - is that a promotion from that one? - will speak at Notre Dame. Well at Redstate that is just damned offensive. Imagine, the President... he's all Meesiahey and stuff and now he wants to speak at Notre Dame. That's an outrage I'm sure, but I can't quite figure out why. I guess the main point is this shocking factoid:
70% of ALUMNI disagree with the university while 73% of STUDENTS agree with the university.
This cartoon better illustrates the situation.
Situation Alert: There's a situation.
At the time of this post there aren't any comments so I can't see where they are going with this. Is the point that alumni are smarter than students (as in "grown-ups") and the point is to say that alumni are wise enough to know the truth (that having Obama speak at their alma mater is an abomination)?
The first thing that pops into my head when I see that disparity of alumni vs. students in polled opinion of the offensiveness of our president is evidence of a generational shift. What I take away from that cartoon is a smile and a reassured confidence that my party is clearly the part of the future.
Maybe Redstate gets that too and that's the point of the post? So that means this is an "OHNOES!!!!" message about how they are taking over? I know that's one of their common memes, that the Evil Left has taken over higher education. Maybe that's it. Dunno. (THOSE WERE THE LAST WORDS IN THIS DIARY).
