Look, I don't do meta. Normally, it's not my thing, but I think we are all going a bit stir crazy in here. There is no opposition party that's worth a damn so we are debating ourselves. That's fine. But some of the statements flying around here are uncalled for. Simply because I agree with Obama more often than I disagree doesn't mean I'm an "Obamabot" or I can't "think for myself", and it's insulting for people to imply that those of us who don't feel a need to be overly critical of Obama at this point are that way. In the same measure, simply because someone disagrees with Obama doesn't mean they don't want him to succeed or they are somehow a traitor to him. During the election people of all political backgrounds came to this site, from the far left to Republican converts to people who still consider themselves Republicans.
With that being said, I'm going to take liberty in my diary to do what I do, and that's try to bring some positivity back into the equation. So if you are offended by my "fluffy" diaries, you can feel free to exit now. It's Friday, and I intend to enjoy getting a day closer to my graduation :o)
Our lovely First Lady, Michelle was working hard in the new WH Garden yesterday:
Mrs Obama was joined by a group of 25 children who tend to a similar garden at their school for the inaugural plantings.
Among the crops brought into the 1,100-square-foot L-shaped plot on the South Lawn was spinach, assorted types of lettuce, herbs - including dill, oregano and rosemary - onions, shallots, cucumbers, peppers and peas.
Tomato vines will added to the vegetable patch in about three weeks.
Ooh! I wonder if they'll be eating fried green tomatoes in the White House? (I LOVE those, but they are seasonal :o( and DELICIOUS) and it's only costing them about $200, and I'm sure they'll see a nice return on that in savings. So nice to have a thrifty family in the White House. Anywhoo: here are some pics:
