Hahahaha! The Michael Steele Magical Mystery Tour continues. In what may be the worst timing ever for a political attack, Michael Steele is sending out a mailer soliciting GOP donations, saying that President Obama is soft of criminals/terrorists!
Sorry for the odious Washington Times link:
Mr. Steele wrote that Mr. Obama's comments criticizing the United States on his recent European tour showed "an absence of wisdom."
Mr. Steeles letter also slammed the Democratic president for saying he was open to possible talks with Iran. Apparently, he believes he can make peace with crackpot tyrants and heartless terrorists simply by sitting down and talking, the Steele letter said.
The RNC letter noted that Mr. Obama while in Europe had said the United States has displayed "arrogance" at times in its foreign policy. But Mr. Steele said it was the former senator from Illinois who was "arrogant" when he "boasted his election would be remember as the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.
LMAO! Yes, President Obama doesn't know how to deal with these folks. He certainly cannot give the order to take out those who hold Americans hostage. Sure, he can try that girlie "diplomacy" (which succeeded in getting the pirates to agree to be towed), but when the chips are on the line, the President folds:
For President Obama, last week's confrontation with Somali pirates posed similar political risks to a young commander in chief who had yet to prove himself to his generals or his public.
But the result -- a dramatic and successful rescue operation by U.S. Special Operations forces -- left Obama with an early victory that could help build confidence in his ability to direct military actions abroad.
Poor Michael Steele. I didn't think it was possible for someone to be so completely incompetent of their job. Even Michael Scott has flashes of competence occasionally. Has Michael Steele gotten ANYTHING right since he took over? The pathological need for the GOP to try and win every newscycle bit them in the ass. Instead of laying low on this crisis, they elevated it by claiming that it was Obama's big test. And after an overwhelming consensus saying that Obama passed big time, the GOP can't stop themselves from criticizing for one second. Andrew Sullivan sums it up well:
The Right And The Pirates
Is it me or is the dust-up between Jonah Goldberg and Rush Limbaugh another sign of, well, irrelevance, triviality and onanism? The Republicans thought they could beat Obama in the election by winning the pettiest moments in the shortest available news cycle. And, apparently, they still do ...
