Suck on this, GOP!
The latest Cook Political Report/RT Strategies poll finds Democrats with an 11-point lead over Republicans, 49% to 38%, in a generic congressional ballot test.
Oh, really? In case you haven't noticed, Rasmussen's generic ballot polls have been in the margin of error pretty much every time since election day (wow, what a coincidence, when nobody can actually measure them). He's even flirted with the GOP enough to give them a lead in the generic ballot once or twice. However, this poll completely shows his poll is BULLSHIT!
However, there is some bad news in there for us:
However, when given the choice of choosing between the statements "we need to have a Democratic Congress in order to help President Obama enact his legislative program," and the other "We need to elect a Republican Congress to act as a check and balance, to keep Democrats from going too far," 48% chose the Republican 'check and balance' option, 41% indicated a preference for Democratic Congress to work with Obama.
This is probably people thinking more about "fairness" and "power checking" then actually liking the GOP. In fact, I kind of agree with that statement, but the Republicans don't want to help or check the president, they just want to obstruct him and get him to fail.
